Wow!!! Over three months!!!!
This has been a long summer break from blogging ... a break that stretches far into the fall! I'm NOT going to give you the list of excuses as to why I haven't blogged for three months, it's really "just because" ... now we'll just look forward on and continue where we left off
Due to endless banquets held in July and early August, I took a long (but not needed) break from all needle work but besides that I've been really busy; sewed a dress for Arna and a sweater / blouse / top (don't quite know what to call this piece) for Andrea, continued making pillows on my bed, made one more Swoon block (and messed up another one by cutting it wrong, boohoo...), finished a striped lopi sweater for Andrea, knitted one more candle flame hat for Andrea, crochetted a tablecloth (everyone is doing it, wright? LOL), finished one and a half boy quilt (old sins) and knitted a lopi sweater for David, another one for Dagur and I'm making more pillows, another baby quilt (no I'm NOT pregnant!! LOL) and pincushions for my girls.
Oh! And two weeks ago I went to Langamýri, a former homemaking school for women in north of Iceland. The ladies at Quiltbúðin, a quiltshop in Akureyri (also north of Iceland) arrange a sewing weekend in Langamýri every fall... actually they arrange for five weekends in a row because of the popularity!! I always go with couple of friends and this time I took my Andrea with me. I'll post about it shortly with pictures and everything :)
I also went on a little fabric shopping spree this summer, just couldn't hold my horses anymore (it's a good thing I don't have any horses! LOL)
We are storming into the autumn which pleases me a lot because I love this season. I heard a lady say in a radio interview the other day that seasonal changes like summer/fall, tend to depress people. I just have no idea what the woman is talking about!!! I love this season. In the autumn I go to the fifth gear, wake up and get much more energetic (the fact that I'm writing this blog entry is just a living proof LOL). Thus there are exciting times ahead :)
Here are some pictures of new fabrics and pillows in the making and I'll post more shortly (not in three months... promise!!!).

Oh, I almost forgot (how could I?!!), a "funny" story: We started painting the rooms downstairs this fall. We started with Davið's room and wanted to rip out some tiles the people before us had put INSIDE the windows! I know, strange, right? Well, after we took out the tiles we noticed a leak in the walls around the window coming from outside... why can't they just make a house that doesn't leak?!!! I mean, it's the year 2014!! Anyway... we had to find out where the water was coming from and guess what! When the balcony above the window was built they drilled the brackets in a wrong place leading to the water going into the wall and down to the window beneath... sigh!! SO we had to tear down the balcony (well, the balconies!! We have TWO of them, above both kid's rooms) and now the balconies look like this (anyone up to a party on the balcony?? LOL):
I can't help laughing when writing this!!! - We just wanted to paint some "#/%&"&$ room!!!!!!! Will it ever be over?!
Anyway... in case you haven't heard we've had some amazing volcanic eruption since end of August (no, it did NOT start the moment I found out about the leak!! LOL). Click here if you wan't to see some local news (in english) and stunning pictures and videos from it. The eruption is not near us but depending on the wind direction, we sometimes can feel the pollution coming from the lava. This is the pollution forcast for today:
Maybe you too, have been affected by it? At least according to the news the pollutions seems to have travelled all the way to Paris - well, who can blame it, I wan't to see Paris too! :)
Pollution or not... I hope you have a great day!
